Creation of the district – supported by a majority of the Nordic Ranches property owners – was prompted by a concern for the long term viability of the water system and the community as a whole. As of December 2019 we were approved by the state of Wyoming as a Special District. As a Special District we are positioned to take advantage of the state’s commitment to investing in publicly owned water systems.

Immediately after becoming an officially designated district, the board of directors successfully applied with the cooperation of the water company – Nordic Ranches Water, LLC to the Wyoming Water Development Commission for a Level 1 study. The Level 1 study is an extensive analysis of all aspects of the current water system, enabling qualification, as a public entity, for capital improvement grants and low interest long term loans. The study takes into account projected needs for the next 30 years.
